Kansas Farm Income Report

An overview of the just-released report on 2021 Kansas net farm income from the Kansas Farm Management Association at K-State. This is annual summary of data from KFMA member farms is considered a key indicator of the state of the Kansas production agriculture economy. The executive director of the KFMA, Kevin Herbel, is joined by area KFMA economists to break down what ended up being a record-setting year for net farm income in Kansas. Featured on part one are Jordan Steele from northwest Kansas, Lindsey Bryant from southwest Kansas, and Joni James from south-central Kansas. The second part of the discussion has observations on the farm income numbers for north-central, northeast and southeast Kansas from KFMA economists Will Feldkamp, Craig Althauser and Dillon Rapp, respectively.

2020 Kansas Net Farm Income Report

The executive director of the Kansas Farm Management Association at K-State, Kevin Herbel, and six association economists discuss the numbers from the KFMA's just-released 2020 Kansas Net Farm Income Report: They look at the average net farm income for the state and for the six KFMA regions, highlighting the percentage of that income attributable to government payments. 2019 Kansas Net Farm Income

Kansas Net Farm Income Report

A detailed look at the just-released Kansas Net Farm Income report for 2018 from the Kansas Farm Management Association at K-State. This report is widely regarded as an important indicator of the economic health of production agriculture in the state. This year it shows a notable improvement in average net farm income, but with a major caveat that must be taken into account: the impact of the Market Facilitation Payments program. Kevin Herbel and KFMA economists discuss NFI across the six regions of the state and also take a look at the ongoing challenges in farm equity.
