Corn Price Trends in Ethanol Producing States
Since October 7, 2006, weekly corn prices in ethanol producing states have trended both higher
and lower at different times (Figure 1). As a group, weekly cash corn prices in these states
moved in a range between $3.00 to $4.00 per bushel from Fall 2006 through early December
2007. After that, corn prices trended sharply higher, moving from $4.00 to approximately $7.00
per bushel on late June 2008.
